The Kelley Blue Book, it will give you an idea of what specific cars are worth in your local area.

Car value does vary by area. Using–KellyBlueBook.com or NADA–both free internet sites, I believe they both ask the area or zip code of the car for sale. These book values give you an idea or approximate idea of where to start on value.

Kelly Blue Book is not always very accurate, a more accurate way to know a cars value locally is to simply do your own research and look for similar cars for sale and what their asking price is. I usually search Autotrader.com to get the best estimate for my cars value, but the more sources you search the more accurate your estimate will be.
