they never take you on the highway, but I failed the parallel parking. Remember to stop at yellow lights during the exam. I took it 2 times.
I took my driver's test about 20 years ago in Los Angeles… and freeway driving was not required. Passed the test on the first try… so I didn't ever fail.
Although I *did* get some points marked off for not changing lanes the moment the tester told me to (I was not able to see that the lane to my left was clear at that moment) – so while I don't think I was wrong … I didn't mention it because I passed anyway.
no freeways…just a few turns, stops, etc in the neighborhood and finally parking…i didnt fail
No you dont have to get on the highway. why would they take a newby on the highway? thats a big NO NO.
I passed my with flying colors, blind folded with my hands tied behind my back and my anckles tucked behind my neck.
nearest freeway was a 30 min. drive away, the test was 15min. long
passed first time no problem.
I had to drive on I-93 for one exit, then just had an easy drive around chatting to the examiner about where i'm from (i've been driving for 16 years in the UK before moving to the US).
I've never failed a driving test.
No, no highway/freeway driving. Just a short distance on regular roads. I did fail the driver's test the first time I took it. I was really nervous, but also the "instructor" (why do they call them that) took my realigning the car as "three attempts to park" rather than me just matching the car up to the parking space (I didn't even pull out, I was just turning the car in the space!) I passed the second time.
No highways, but there definetely should be. Parallel parking, 3-point turn(k-turn), a couple of rights and lefts and straight for a couple of blocks to judge speed control thats it.
