My six months are over in six days, I've tried to make an appointment online at the DMV website but it says "You are ineligible to make a behind-the-wheel driving test appointment online." Can I only make an appointment after my sixth months is offically over?? And about how long is the wait for the closest appointment date?

You must wait the full 6 months. Try several DMV's in your area if the appointment time at your local office does not suit your needs.
If that fails simply call for an appointment.
