Just study the DMV packet that has all the information you need to get your permit. You can get it at the dmv, or, google search "dmv (your state)" and your dmv website will pop up, and you can read the packet online. Also, when you do take the test, take it with the computer at the DMV instead of the written one. I just took the permit test yesterday for the first time, used the computer, and passed. And I really didn’t study that much. Don’t worry, it’s reallly really easy and you’ll only fail if your dumber than a rock. So no worries.
