You could take the practice test online.
If you know all the stuff, then you're fine. Just don't "over-think" the problems. I did that on one of them and got it wrong.
It's not that hard. If you fail it, then you shouldn't be driving anyway. Good luck!
What I did was I read the book from cover to cover, then I found all of the answers for the 100 question multiple choice test at the back of the book, studied, and let my parents test me by giving me random questions.
It's an easy test yes, but you never know what kind of questions you'll get. When I took my written test there was one question that wasn't even in the book! But don't worry about that. It's all common sense; I would rather just be really prepared.
Study the manual.
I was freaking out before I took my written test. It turns out, it was so unnecessary. The test is really easy if you have been practicing driving and taken some sort of drivers ed. If you are feeling nervous, they have a bunch of practice tests online that could help : )
inhale deeply with your nose and exhale it out through your mouth as you stand before th machine.. it will help you 2 relax.. if there is a question on there your not sure about, skip it and get back 2 it later.. it took me 4 tries 2 pass.. each test is different.. that's not true about if you don't pass you shouldn't drive.. you will do fine.. i just read on the comp some lady has tried the road test 771 and still flunked : ) now that's bad..
The state of California has practice tests on their website.

The best way I find to prepare is to read the Driver's Manual.
