My friend has foreign driving license which cannot be exchanged because he is not EU, for this reason he must pass both theory and practical test to obtain British driving license.
We want to buy a book to help him learn the rules, what is a good book to buy? or any online resources maybe?
If you go into W.H.Smiths they have a good selection of books for all different driving tests, some come with interactive DVD so you can practise the hazard perception part of the theory test.
Highway code is the best place to start, it’s tedious though, this is the starting point of u.k highway knowledge, Its about £3 from wh smiths. The highway code is the best book to use. All the other books will only tell you the same things. Also for the “interactive” parts of the theory test get one of the CD-Rom’s from GAME
The driving standards agency (the people that make up the test) make a series of books for driving theory tests. They include all the questions and answers you are likely to be asked.
Also don’t book a theory test without having done a bit of driving and had a few lessons. A lot of it makes a lot more sense when you have actually had to do the things in real life.
The DVLA actually publishes it’s own Theory Test book which provides all the questions & answers that are used in the theory test. It is definitely a good way to practice but not half as good as the interactive dvd. This dvd will have all those questions plus the hazard perception part of the test. Almost every major shop stocks them so getting hold of it will not be too difficult
