the examiner will 1st begin with ensuring you know the basic vehicle functions before you even begin to roll. turn signals adn things like that.
then you will drive around, doing all the normal things. changing lanes, using your mirrors and signals.
and you will need to do some of the "special skills", the things not done everytime, sometimes not ever other then in the test. 3 point turns and parrallel parking.
basically, you will need to prove the skills required in driving.
and nobody expects you to master them right away. it takes a good decade before you even begin to master driving.
you need to have the bad experiences, and those take time or very advanced training. the blowout, the spin or slide, the idiots in the other cars……
In the UK, Once you are at the test centre an examiner will come into the room and call your name, he will introduce himself and check your drivers licence etc. After this you will go outside and they will ask you to read a numberplate, once you have done this you will be asked 1 show me and 1 tell me question, you can get these from your instructor or from the internet, then you will go out onto the road for your test, the examiner will tell you where to go and all you have to do is follow his instructions. Before you can take a practical test you need to have completed your theory test. You will be asked to drive along various roads with different road conditions, for example, town driving, country driving, driving through built up areas or on a dual carriageway. You will also need to be able to complete certain manoeuvres, for example turn in the road, Parallel park, reverse left/right around a corner, emergency stop and reverse parking in a bay.
