Hi hun. I live in the Uk and have my test on the 28th June and am also very nervous. Here when learning I always have to check for my blind spot when driving off. It is to make sure there are no bikes or children or anything really that you could hurt. Just do everything your instructor has taught you and try and stay calm. I suck sweets or chew gum on my lessons and plan to do the same on my test. Good luck!

You're over-thinking this. You'll be just fine.

When it came to parallel parking I was too nervous and not very good at it so I asked the guy if I could just refuse to do that portion and be docked points. Yes.

And nothing can go worse than the poor guy before me who had his car stall as they were headed out of the parking lot at the start of the test. lol He had no idea what to do and the tester couldn't stop laughing.

Just go slow and take your time. You don't have to check your blind spot that much/that often. Best wishes! :)

1. Though it is not required, durring a driving test i would err on the safe side and check this.

2. NO! some people who dont like the use of mirrors will back up using just their blind spots as guides. I would however make it a point to look at each of the mirrors at least once.

3. As long as you are in a single lane road, the only things you have to worry about are mirrors every now and then, as well as checking your speed every 15-30 seconds.

4. Dont be, i know you're put in a pressure situation, but these people are there to help. As long as you arent a horrible driver, they will pass you. And if they dont, they will tell youwhat to improve on, and you will do better the next time.

You need to check your blind spot when you're changing the direction the vehicle is moving.
So:
1) Yes
2) Five seconds is way too long to keep checking after it's obvious that nothing is coming from your blind spot. If it's not obvious, then make sure.
3)No.
4)Relax.
