NJ ROAD TEST SOON!! Some Questions!!?

Ok i am taking my road test for the first time thursday of next week and i am really nervous. My parents say that i am a good driver its just the parallel parking is whats killing me. I have practiced at the course near the Monmouth mall, on sundays a couple times. I can definitely parallel, its just getting 6 inches to the curb is whats killing me!! I can get 6 inches or less 3/5 times i parallel park. Can someone tell me like a run through of what I should expect, and when parallel parking do you have to look behind you? or can you just use your mirrors??

Hi ! Good luck for the test. I took mine today and I failed. It was at Bakers Basin. It was in a MVC testing area, not on the road. I was asked to drive around through various turns and I properly used the indicators but the examiner said I was not supposed to use signals in a parking lot. My instructor had advised me earlier that even if the test was in a parking lot, I was supposed to behave as if I was on a real road.
Many times I went through STOP signs and I stopped before the white line without touching the line, but the examiner said that I was supposed to completely stop, according to her my vehicle rolled over. Then I did Parallel parking and first time I was little further from the curb so the examiner asked me to do it again and according to her I hit the cone on the second time which I didn’t realise it at all because halfway through she asked me to stop and asked for 3 point turn which I did ok. Finally She told me that I was a fairly good driver, but I needed to practice. My instructor couldn’t believe that I failed. I have 10 years of driving experience in a foreign country where I had lived earlier.
My advice will be ( if I qualify to advise) if your road test is in a parking lot, they will definitely ask for 3 point turn & parallel parking and also check if you can follow their instructions properly.
    Good luck once again.

When I took my road test I didn’t have to parallel park at all.

But I just wanted to mention that I’m a great driver and I failed my first time because "I didn’t check my blind spot before changing lanes." Which I know for a fact that I did; she would see that if she looked up from her clipboard, haha! So the second time I exaggerated my movements for checking my blind spot.

The test will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes …..

    Driving in reverse
    Stopping at appropriate signs
    Nearing corners or intersections
    Stopping smoothly
    Sitting properly
    Turning around
    Steering properly
    Parallel parking
    Yielding to right-of-way

If you fail you must wait at least two weeks before taking the test again

If you fail more than twice, MVC may require you to wait six months before taking the road test again

Possible reasons why your vehicle will cause you to fail

It is deemed unsafe or unsuitable for a road test
It has an improper, expired, or no inspection sticker
Equipment in the vehicle prevents the examiner from reaching the foot or parking brakes
There is a defect or condition that affects the safe operation of the vehicle including poor brakes, a defective parking brake, unsafe tires, unreasonably unclean interior, a fast engine idle or missing seatbelts ………..
