Does the new law affect people over 18?
I just turned 18 last month. I have my permit (and have had it since June), and – as of my birthday – I have become eligible to get my license. However, I want to know what to expect when I get to the DMV: will I have to take the in-car/road test before I can get my license? Or, does the new law only affect individuals under 18 applying for a license or individuals who got their permits after September 1 (when the new law went into effect)?
Thanks!

Tx
At 18 you can have the in-car road test waived when applying for your license if you have completed the classroom and behind-the -wheel portion of the Texas Driver’s Ed course. and your examiner allows you to skip the test
Texas does not have a DMV we have DPS: Department of Public Safety. It really annoys me when people use terms from the movies and tv as opposed to reality.
