failed my drivers test because i couldnt parallel park when i was 16. people have been telling me that when i am 18 i can just go in and take a written test to get my license instead of having to go through and attempt parallel parking again. does anyone know if i still have to take the road test in the car after im 18 or do i only have to take a written one to get my license? thnks.

If you can’t parallel park you are a hazard to other road users. Learn to do it and take the test again.
Call the Sec. of State. I moved back in 07 when my son was 20 and he just took a test.No driving.
You have to take a road test the first time you get your license no matter how old you are. You just need to practice. Everyone who drives had to take the test at least once.
i assume the test you failed was at a driving school and not the secretary of states office. When you turn 18 you only have to take a test at the secretary of states office and not a driving school. The SOS driving test is not as rigorous as a driving school test, but you may still have to do parallel parking without the traffic cones and plastic rods.
