Is there a device that i can use to test if a laptop dvd drive works.?

I have a bunch of random laptop dvd drives and i want to test them to see if they work. I am looking for some type of device, dongle, or external case to mount an internal laptop dvd drive.

  1. DON says:

Most modern laptop dvd drives share a common form factor and connector regardless of the OEM. The tray trim piece usually pops off relatively easily if it’s in the way. I just use an old Dell Inspiron (PIII) laptop loaded with XP for testing.

If you want to spend money, you can buy a CD/DVD enclosure. See the link below for one on sale through Amazon.
