It depends on the state where you live. Some require a waiting period from the time you get your permit until you can take the test. It may also vary depending on whether or not you are over 18. They should tell you all this when you get the permit. Look in your state’s DMV web site. (When I got my permit, there weren’t any web sites, they gave us a booklet.)

Its not possible, you have a waiting period, you can’t take it on the same day.

2 hours of behind-the-wheel training doesn’t make you a capable or safe driver, even if it does enable you to pass the ridiculously simple road tests we have.
There is so much you will not have been trained to deal with. If you get licenced without spending some more time with somebody qualified to expose you to more situations, you will be extremely lucky to live through a year without having an accident. I have never let anybody I taught go for the test until I decided they were ready, and the shortest period of behind the wheel training I gave anybody was 25 hours.
You have been taught how to operate a vehicle, you have not yet been taught how to drive. There is a difference, my young friend.

here in sc you have to wait 6 months after you get your permit to get your license but i don’t think that’s what you’re asking… my drivers ed instructor actually took me to my drivers test on the last day of driving so yeah i should say so, and all the crap they teach you is still fresh on your mind so yeah not a bad idea.
