If I pass parallel parking on my driving test but fail, will I need to get it perfect again next time?

Okay, so I’ve already failed my driving test three times, mostly because of stupid mistakes caused by nerves. I’m taking the test again soon, and I’m pretty confident in my ability to parallel park. The thing is, the first time I took the test, I had a really nice guy who parked his own car against the curb by the DMV and told me to parallel park behind it. This was easy because his car was a pretty normal size, and it was parked against a smooth curb. Then the second time I took the test, I had this guy who was a total jerk in more ways than one, and he made me park next to some crooked car out on this old crumbly curb (and the car wasn’t even parked right). I failed that time, took the test again with a woman who parked her car like the first guy, and passed the parallel parking part. So I’m wondering – if I do everything fine next time and I happen to fail on parallel parking, will I have to take the test all over again just because of that? It doesn’t seem fair that I would have to when they already have evidence that I can do it! I know policies differ from state to state, but has anyone else had an experience like this?

You are required to parallel park in real life but then you can take all the swipes at it you need. Just continue to practice and soon you will be able to do it every time. Practice by cars that are parked crazy too. So if you have passed the parallel parking, why are you failing? It’s all pretty basic info that you need to know to drive safely. If you can’t pass the test easily, you aren’t ready to drive. You need to do more practice driving so that you feel comfortable at ALL times when you drive. If you do something stupid after you get your license, the life you kill could be mine.

Usually you only have to re -take the portion of the test you failed. Not the entire thing. Speaking for Tx. only !
