I once had to take the test in another state after I already had a license for years and I failed because i drifted past the white line at the stop sign. How embarrassing. They don't penalize you for going slow. As for what to keep in mind... try to relax. Think of the fact that if you fail its no big deal, just come back. Don't tell your friends your taking the test that day since then it will seem like a bigger deal if you fail. Do everything slowly and deliberately.
