Hey every one, I live in Los Angeles California, I am 19 years old and I am about to take my drivers test (2-3 weeks), and have the following questions:
1. how long will the test take?
2. Is there a point system? example 100/100=pass
3. What should i expect?
4. Will i be asked to enter the freeway?
Thanks for answering, and wish me luck cause I am very nervous

I don't live there so I can't tell you how long it will take or if you have to go on the freeway or not. I mean it really depends on where you take the test as to the road test they give you. Where I live you don't go on the Interstate/freeway and it is too far to expect that in a sense. Where I live they do a quick road test through a neighborhood area, probably figure that is harder then driving on the freeway. Just listen to the examiner. They will tell you what you are supposed to do. If you know when to signal and all then it's no problem. Big thing is make sure you are at the speed limit or slightly under, I know I know most people drive over the limit BUT they will take points off for going over the limit. It is the Max Speed LIMIT, so you aren't following the law when you are over, but you won't fail over that(at least not in PA). Another thing is make sure you follow the law, even if the instructor tried to tell you do something follow the law first.
well i'm from Ny and it took me just 5 mins to complete the drivers test. It all depends on where you are from and what roads they make you take. You don't need to worry about a point system because as long as you do what you learned correctly you'll pass. Also make sure when you look into your mirrors you exaggerate it a little so the instructor knows your doing something ( just looking with your eyes isn't the same as turning your head)
Be sure to put on your seat belt,
Make full stops,
Use both hands on the steering wheel,
Use your turn signals,
Don't Speed
Try not to hit the curb when you parallel park
Your instructor should surely have told you about this by now…
If it's anything like the UK, the test takes about 40 minutes. They have a list of errors you aren't allowed to make. Some of them "minors" – you can make up to 15 of these and still pass, unless you persistently make the same fault (this would be things like indicating early or late for example, not dangerous but undesirable). Then you have "majors" – these are an instant fail, and are an error that could result in an accident or collision. And then finally you have "dangerous", which means the test stops immediately (normally if you fail, they don't tell you until you get back to the test centre). If you make a dangerous error, the examiner will get out and walk back, and your instructor has to come to the car to pick you up.
The only thing I can advise on is to listen to the instructor and follow everything he/she says to do. They are not there to trick you in any way I would help more, but it has been 30 + years since taking my initial test and things may have changed by now :}
