How do I "test drive" my new WebCam?

Is there a way to check it out and adjust it before I cam with someone?? Thanks……….. ;) )

    Depends! It all depends on the camera, most come with software so you can take pictures of yourself with it, if you can figure out if you got that software, or if it gets installed automatically when you plug it in (some are like that but you still have to install it) then you can just try to figure out what its called, open it, and try to take pictures. They’ll show you what your camera is displaying. Once you see that, you’ll be able to see what people will see if you use it on Skype or a similar video chat program. Also, some programs like Skype and others have a "test call" option on them, i’m not sure if you can use them for video or not, but its worth a shot if you can’t do the first option. 3rd option would be create 2 Skype accounts on 2 different computers in your home, if you have 2, and call one from the other, and you’ll be able to see yourself. Final option would be find a friend who wouldn’t really care and let you call them to see :) Hopefully this helps… good luck and happy video chatting!
