I live in CA and I'm taking my test in a couple of weeks. I just want to know what happened on your drive tests. What I need to watch out for. Any tricky things to remember. Any weird laws that you never pay attention to when you drive with your parents but they mark you off for on the test. Speed changes or intersection rules. Stuff like that. Thanks.
It's really not that hard to pass a driving test. Don't stress out about it and you'll be fine.
Remember this first, you HAVE TO pretend that the instructor is far more superior, smarter, and of higher status. Only answer questions they ask, no more or no less. Also, make sure not to question them. You want to drive slow around 15mph or so because lower than that could be too slow and more than that could be speeding to them. Make sure to look back through the window before pulling out even though you saw in the mirrors that it's clear to go. They like to fail teens because they think everyone of them are reckless drunk drivers so you have to make sure you know your stuff. Remember to relax and take your time because you won't be penalized for the time it takes to complete the road test. When you slow down and accelerate make sure you do it smoothly and not abruptly. You should bring your mom or dad or uncle with you rather than a big sister or friend of your's . Make sure to be on the innermost lane when making a right turn and on the outermost turn on a left turn. Always change lanes early, not right before you make the turn. Don't forget signals, seat belt, and raise your seat as high as you can so you can see as much of the hood. This will help you approximate the position of the car when parking or any other maneuver. If the road is wet make sure that you start to brake early and tap on the brake gently because when the road is wet the wheels have less traction. If something is happening like you are having trouble to park and it's not going smoothly than don't panic because you don't want to loose focus. Again, RELAX, take your time, and suck up to them because they truly feel that they are really important (there nobody's so don't get mad at them because they do have the power to fail you and you can't dispute anything).
