I’m trying to book a driving test so I can drive this summer. However, I work full time and I’m finding it impossible to find anywhere doing a test in london on a saturday. I can get tests during the week but that means taking hard-earned holiday which kinda sucks, not to mention piling on the pressure to make sure I pass first time. Any suggestions for how to get one, or what it’s so hard? I know summer is tough and so are weekends, but there seems to be a seven-week waiting list for weekdays and no weekend tests at all for months. Is this normal?
yes it is normal for the waiting list to be so long and some driving centres dont offer weekend tests which is annyoing!! I suggest if you can to book it online and then you will have a much wider choice on when you take it and you can also change it if you want to. I waited 2 months to do my test which was really annoying! good luck!
You will probably be better having to suffer and losing a days holiday.
Book your test for a weekday it will probably give you a date which could be in 7 weeks time but what you have to do is phone up every other day for a cancellation.
Cancellations always come up and that is the only way you will be able to bring your test forward and you never know you might get one for a weekend!
When i booked my test (a few years ago now) it was not for 4 weeks so i kept checking the cancellations, a date came up for a Friday i knew it wasn’t far off so i booked it, it was only after when i checked the date i realised it was the Friday of that week! My test was in 3 days, however i had the test and passed first time.
