the one and the only tip stay soo cool .. don be confused

I’d say don’t worry about the test too much. The more you worry, the more nervous you’ll get. It’s not as hard as everyone might say it is. Stay calm and confident. Good luck

Safe driving tips to help pass your road test:

STEERING Steer smoothly whether you are driving straight ahead, turning or backing up.

ACCELERATION Accelerate smoothly and moderately. Don’t race the engine or cause it to stall.

BRAKING Bring the vehicle to a stop gently. Start braking well before your stopping position to avoid "jerky" stops. Make sure you stop your vehicle in the proper position of the lane.

CLUTCH/GEAR Always be sure your vehicle is in the correct gear. With either an automatic or a manual transmission, shift into the proper gear at the right time without "grinding" the gears.

SPEED Obey the posted speed limit, of course, but also adjust your speed properly due to weather, road, visibility and traffic conditions.

FOLLOWING DISTANCE Keep an adequate space "cushion" between your vehicle and those you are following. Use the "two second rule" described in the Driver’s Manual. Be sure to increase your following distance in poor weather or visibility.

TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Know the meanings of signs, signals and pavement markings, and obey them consistently.

STOPPING POSITION If a stop is required, stop your vehicle before it reaches an intersecting street. If stop lines or crosswalks are present, stop before crossing them. If your view is blocked after stopping behind the crosswalk, move up until you can clearly see your way, then stop again if necessary.

LANE SELECTION AND POSITION Keep your vehicle in the proper traffic lane, especially when preparing to make turns. Don’t allow room for another vehicle to pass you on the side that you are turning toward.

COMMUNICATION Let other drivers and pedestrians know which way you want to go. Use your directional signals or horn consistently and at the proper times.

OBSERVATION Look for and identify potential problems or hazards in the traffic around you – not just straight ahead, but behind you and on either side. Check your mirrors frequently, but be sure to look over your shoulder behind you when changing lanes or backing up.

ANTICIPATE & REACT TO OTHERS Anticipate possible driving errors by others and be ready to react safely to make up for their mistakes…………….

Well, everybody is going to be nervous, it's how you control it.

During my road test, I was kinda nervous and absent-minded, and I almost failed right out of the box – I nearly forgot to look back when I pulled out from the curb. But after that, I was too focused on what I was doing to feel nervous.

I would suggest joking around beforehand with whoever goes together with you to the test. Just walking around and staying loose while you wait. Then when you get in the car, just take some relaxing deep breaths and go over in your mind what you have to do. If you get through the first minute or so without messing up, you should feel more relaxed and in control as your test goes on. And remember even if you fail, it's not a big deal, you can take it again (I assume this is true in the UK as well).

    just dont to burnouts
    or roll the car

  2. kels says:

make sure you know how to do everything… 3 point turn, parallel park, backing up in a strait line. that's what i needed to know for mine. if you know how to do then you wont be as nervous because you'll have confidence. I'm pretty sure when you park uphill park you turn the wheel all the way to the right so if the car rolled back it would roll into the curb.

  3. Max says:

Uphill parking? If you have to do that be sure and use the parking brake (the one you pull with your hand).

    Both hands on the wheel
    No radio
    Use turn signals
Don't run a red or yellow light
    Seat Belts

    You can handle it.

  4. A Military Veteran says:

Study for the written. Study and know it, like a final for a school exam.

Be totally familiar with the controls. Lights, horn, left right turn emergency brake. Emergency flashers. Low / hi beams, all of it.

It sounds strange but I have a friend, he went for his test, the dude could not figure out how to turn on the turn signal, and got a black mark. Then the examiner said, "Put it in reverse." He couldn't and he failed the test, right there. They told him, "Go get more practice."

He had just gone in after being in a car for 3 days as a driver. He had figured "I been riding in cars 10 years."

    Bring proof of insurance.

You really need to have a solid month's worth of driving practice, with an experienced driver, before you go to take the test. Most testers, at least in Pennsylvania, will have you go out on the road, and drive in traffic, passing, lane changes, all of it. If you are not smooth, and not hesitant at doing all that live, in traffic, you'll fail. If you nearly cause an accident, or do cause one, you'll fail.

Do not slam on brakes, do smooth stops. Anticipate stuff, make an effort to look around, check mirrors when passing, etc. Know what the signs mean, and do that. Signal for all turns.

Even if you are nervous, do not make jokes. Just follow instructions. And try above all to feel, and seem, relaxed, but without being devil may care cavalier about it.

Fasten your seatbelt. Ask your instructor to fasten theirs, if they do not do so.

Through the whole thing, They will mark points on a clipboard next to you, and will not tell you if you are failing, unless you do so bad you fail mid-stream, or until you are back.

If you do fail, you can take it again in a few weeks.

    Good luck.
