Alright, so tomorrow I’m taking my driving test. I’m a little curious though about one part, the parallel parking. My parents decided tonight to start me out learning how to parallel park. And It didn’t go as planned. My biggest issue was either having it hang out to close to the road or parking slightly on the grass (where the curb would be). But my real question is will this effect my grade that I receive substantially? If I do good on the other portions of the test will it totally blow it to shame? Please help!

If you do everything else correctly you should be fine. Tip: be sure to ask the examiner if they have put their seat belt on before you drive off.
Pull up next to the (possibly imaginary if your jurisdiction uses poles) car in front of the space, turn the wheel to the right and begin backing up looking over your right shoulder. When your head is even with the rear bumper of the "car" in front, turn the wheel the other direction and continue backing up until you are close to the rear limit of the space. Turn the wheel to just past straight and pull forward to adjust your position in the space. You will do fine.
i guess it depends where in the world you are… I am in australia and yes, it would seriously affect your mark here. You could fail the test just because you failed to parallel park. The trick to parallel parking could sometimes depend on the size of your car and how the car you are parking alongside is parked because if the other car is parked at an awkward position, chances are your parking job is going to be awkward too. Just try not to hit the curb or be too far from the curb. Get as close as possible without mounting it.
My best guess is that it depends on your location. Here in Pennsylvania, if you blow the parallel parking (which you do second, after the examiner checks your knowledge of your car functions), you don’t even get to leave the parking lot for the road test.
Good luck!
