    TRANSPORTATION CODE
    TITLE 7. VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC

SUBTITLE B. DRIVER’S LICENSES AND PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS

CHAPTER 521. DRIVER’S LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

A person who violates this section commits an offense. An offense under this subsection is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $200.

But then there is a possible surcharge amount of $100 per year, depending on the mood of the judge.

Drivers Test Help Please!?

Ok, so my friend is 20 and has his permit but doesn't have a car yet either… His dad was suppose to take him for it but won't. My question is, is does he need to have his own car to take the test and does he need someone there with him? We live in CO.

Call the local DMV and they can tell you what is required.

I can tell you that a car is required. It can belong to anyone, but must have valid registration, insurance, no outstanding warrants and be in safe condition. The owner of the vehicle must either be present to verbally agree to the testing being done in the car or have made arrangements with the DMV to give them proof that the person testing has permission to use the car. (Believe it or not, people have tried to take driving tests in stolen vehicles…and didn't even make it to "World's Dumbest Criminals".)

A licensed driver must accompany him to the test, (He can't drive the car there alone on just a permit.) but will not be in the car during the test. Other things vary state to state and inspector to inspector. I know that MA requires (or at least used to require) no console between the driver and inspector so that the inspector could take control if needed. TX wouldn't let my stepson to test in my RX-7 until I removed the dark tint from the side windows. Dumb things to us, but that's why I said call them.

Drivers test help please?

So I have been looking forward to getting my license for a long time. Today I went to take my drivers test an failed! I was turning left while it was green then turned to yellow then by the time I got to the end it turned red. The instructor said be had to fail me for runnng a red light. How is this my fault . It was the quickest light ever! Now I have to cancel my weekend plans cause I can't drive. I am so mad. Do you think this was unfair? Tips for the next time u take it ??

  1. The Realest Guy says:

TIP- slow down when you are coming upon a light, and make sure you have plenty of time to go thro it while its green, if its turning Yellow than slow down and proceed to STOP…. yellow means slow down when your taking the Test…

but after you take the test, most people think yellow means hurry up and go for it. lol

  2. kenzie says:

Just slow way down when you get to intersections, so in case you have to stop, you will have time to do so. It's really not too hard, I just took mine..

    Good luck!

  3. Ryan M says:

Yeah that's BS. But Technically if any part of the vehicle is still under the light when it turns red, it is considered running a red light.

  4. jrg says:

Did you get to the parrallel parking part? If the light was the worse of your problems then dont worry youll be good to go next time. I know people that have aced the written and have to retake the driving part 4-5 times.

As for B.S. my tester told me to turn left into a one way street. . .that was goin TOWARDS me. Long story short I did as I was instructed and the jerk failed me.

  5. Psych. Nestor. says:

    It was completely fair.

You are suppose to have good judgment to tell when you can make a light. The point of yellow isn't so that you haul a** and make it it's to slow your car down.

If you were to cross the intersection on red (accidentally) and got into a car accident and caused harm or death – do you think it's going to matter if it was fair?

Word of advice: Yellow means slow drastically and prepare to stop.
    Not the complete opposite.

    &

Don't get too ahead of yourself. Walking into the DMV assuming you're going to walk out with a license is naive.
I hope it humbled you into realizing that driving is not a game…nor easy
