Does the DMV let you take the written test on paper?

Or do you have to take the written test on the computer?

I live in South King County, WA.

I'm asking becuase I know someone who's wanting to get his license, but he can't seem to pass the written part.

He says he can't pass the test because he doesn't understand how to take the test on the computer. I doubt they will gie him the test on paper, and I'm just wondering if he can or not.

**I've already called several DMV offices in my area, and the same one three times. Each time I get a different answer. Depending on the person, I get a yes if he asks for it, a yes if he fails x amount of times, a we stopped doing that years ago, we haven't gave out paper tests in a long time, he can take the paper test if there is a power outage and No, there is no paper test he can take.**
Because the pratice test asks the same questions each time.
He's passed the pracite test online, but they ask the same questions no matter how many times you take it.

He can't pass it at the DMV where they ask you different questions each time.
