Im taking my driving test in a week and im really nervous. People have told me im a good driver but i just really want to pass the first time. Im in CT so if anyone has taken it there that wud b even more helpful. Was it easy? And did you have to parallel park? And did u pass the first time? Lol thx

No. I backed into a retaining wall on the way out of the DMV parking lot when I was 16. Automatic failure. My right to apply was suspended due to an MIP and then I joined the Marine Corps. Got a SOFA license in Japan and my stateside license at 23 when I got out of the Corps. They made me pay an $89 reinstatement fee for the MIP that had occurred 8 years earlier. But I did pass it on the first attempt at that time. As a result, my driving record is pristine.

I did everything right, but apparently I ran a stop sign that was painted on the practice lot and it caused me to fail it. the guy could have told me instead of making me go through the rest of the test thinking I was gonna get my license haha
it’s okay though, i went back to a different DMV and got it the second time no problem

I actually taught my mother to drive and took her for her test, which she passed (a major miracle) and then went back the next week to take my own test. I got the same person to test me, he remembered my mother, and asked if I had been the daughter who taught her to drive. I admitted that I had taught her to drive even though I had no license myself. He laughed and then took me out for donuts and gave me a ‘pass’ with no actual driving (I did drive to the donut shop though) test given. He said anyone who had taught my extremely nervous mother to drive deserved a license and that was that. Relax, take your test … the more relaxed you are, the better you will do!

Here’s the thing… They know you’re nervous, hell, they’re probably nervous about their students too! hahaha (getting into accidents, etc). So just like any other test,.. relax, take your time, there’s no rush, & practice as much as you can before hand. You’ll do fine! =) Good Luck!

No. It was raining cats and dogs the kind of rain that pounds the hood like drumsticks on sheet metal, I was driving an extremely loud car, and the instructor or whaever theyre called spoke softly and barely audible. I didnt hear them say "Turn left here" and didnt turn when I was supposed to. They failed me. Whatever, I got it the next time. I was seventeen.

Nope. I had to take it twice. The first time the teacher was more into sleeping than directing and teaching us. Besides. the other 2 students in the first class with me were football jocks I had a crush on. That sure didn't help. The second class I took I was the genuis in the car! Go figure that one out.

I passed on the second try. The first one I failed because I did not make a full and complete stop when the light was yellow and I was making a right turn. Totally stupid.

OH! the other thing he took off for was I was at an intesection with only stop signs. I stopped appropriately and saw a car coming. I was a little slow in realizing the car coming had a stop sign too and so I took a little longer before I proceeded through the intersection.
Then I was told in Driver's Ed that at blind intersections (usually found in residential streets where there aren't signals or stop signs or anything) that we had to slow down to 15 mph. So I did at every one during my test. He took off for that too! When he was going over it with me at the end he said I didn't need to slow down using the brakes, I just had to take my foot off the accelerator and be ready to brake if needed.
Such a jerk. Barely passing my test because I was cautious and doing what I was taught.

no, I didn’t pass the first time, and have come close to not passing on a renewal. I hate memorizing things, and the DMV can be kind of tricky with their questions…
I had to take the permit twice test. I never took Driver’s Ed, and thought I could pass without reading a thing. Failed the first time, passed the second. Since I didn’t take Driver’s Ed, I had to wait until I was 18 to get my license. WAIT, it gets better….I failed my driving test TWICE before getting my license. First time I didn’t know my hand signals, second time I was going 35 in a 30 MPH zone. (Mind you I’d had my permit for two years and was quite comfortable driving) Been driving for six years now, never had one infraction.
i passed my permit the first time, but failed my license. I hit one set of barrels while parallel parking, and the other set while reversing to correct my parallel parking.
i passed theory 1st time with 35 points but piratical passed third time so keep going.

Yes I did pass my drivers test the first time. In fact I have never failed a road test in my life. I have taken test for school bus, air brakes, combination (Class A), and even a forklifts. And I passed all of them on the first try.
Yes, and it was pretty easy. In my test, the examiner was either going to ask us to do a three point turn or a parallel park. I got the three point turn, thankfully.

Yes, I passed first time. It wasn’t easy or hard, I just did what I was asked to do. I did have to parallel park, which I do by reversing the process of driving OUT of a space, others have different methods of doing it.
As long as you do nothing DANGEROUS you will pass. There is more nonsense spoken about the driving test than almost any other subject. You need to be safe, as long as you demonstrate that, you will pass.
