cracked windshield and drivers test?

can i take a drivers test with a cracked windshield down the passenger side?

    No. Besides driving, a driver is responsible to make sure the vehicle is in a safe condition. A cracked windshield tells the examiner you don’t care about safety. FAIL.

    Nope.. They’ll make you get it fixed, or use a different vehicle

    Laws vary from state to state but in most cases the vehicle needs to be able to pass a safety inspection and a cracked windshield won’t.

    When you ask a question of this nature you really need to say what state you’re in. The law varies from state to state. In Texas a crack in a windshield is not considered a problem unless it obscures the drivers vision. In California however, they’ll ticket you for any crack regardless of how minor it is or where it’s located.

    Added: A windshield with a crack that doesn’t obscure the drivers vision will pass a safety inspection in Texas. I’ve had one and passed for a number of years.
