Clearing the codes WON'T help. Doing so also clears certain emissions monitors that must relearn in order to pass the emissions test. Most of the time a code pops up in the computer because a sensor timed out (didnt respond to computer, or computer thought it was trying to "talk" to the sensor and didnt recieve a reaction in time). Its a very good chance that clearing the codes will do the trick. If it doesnt, go to autozone and get your codes read, then post them here. Theres a lot of smart people who will know how to help without spending $700 dollars. Actually, codes can pop up for seemingly no reason.
