My car won’t pass because of codes on transmission. I just got screwed out of $700 and the codes are still the same. I supposedly need a new transmission but it’s driving pretty well especially since it’s been warmer so I don’t want to replace the tranny for a while longer but it won’t pass emissions. Is there anything I can do to pass so I can get a tag?

have someone clear the codes.the drive the car for about 1-2 days take it directly to the station it should pass then.not the right way but it should work.
You have to fix whatever is triggering the codes. Clearing the codes WON’T help. Doing so also clears certain emissions monitors that must relearn in order to pass the emissions test. Driving long enough for that to happen will reset the transmission codes as well.
Actually, codes can pop up for seemingly no reason. Most of the time a code pops up in the computer because a sensor timed out (didnt respond to computer, or computer thought it was trying to "talk" to the sensor and didnt recieve a reaction in time). Its a very good chance that clearing the codes will do the trick. If it doesnt, go to autozone and get your codes read, then post them here. Theres a lot of smart people who will know how to help without spending $700 dollars.
