Can you get a driver’s license without taking the DRIVING part of the test?

Hi all :)

My brother in law is 21 and is just now learning how to drive and get his drivers license.

He went to the DMV and took the written part of the test && then they mailed his driver’s license to him WITHOUT taking the driving test…is his license real??

How can we tell if he has a valid drivers license…my brother in law can’t read…so we are just kind of skeptical on how he got his license.

Serious answers only.

Thanks all.

Not in any of the 3 states I have lived in. but to move from state to state with a valid license no drivers test was required. Maybe driving tests are only required for teens in your state? i know they will help those who can not read.

You have to take the whole test not just the written part there is no way around it none. If your brother in law can not read there is no way he passed they are strict and if you can not pass both tests you can not drive your brother in law will find out when the police stop him and find that his license is not on their computer records like everyone else’s who has a license. Did you see him go to the DMV? Did you see him take the test? Go get a book at the DMV on how to study for your license its free and tell him to answer the questions or to read the ones he took he will tell you he does not remember tell him to read a little from the book if he can’t he is a liar.

look carefully, is it a permit, or a license. i beleive a driving test is required with the car you will be driving. Dont quote me on it, though.

    It’s probably just a learner’s permit.

  5. JesusJoseph says:

if he have another state license then he will get the license without road test
otherwise it will be a permit

Hope this will be useful for you!
