Can i waive the Texas driving test?

i am doing drivers ed in a box and i’m just about done with it. The drivers ed in a box thing specificaly says i can waive my driving test but i heard that they changed the rules. i think i probably got my drivers ed in a box before they changed this rule. Do i have to take it or not.

by waive i mean my parent gives me the driving test therefore i dont have to take the one at the dps. i dont mean skipping it all together.
