It’s only legal to ride it to your road test if you currently have a learner’s permit. Otherwise, it is technically illegal.

if you make it there without a ticket, and pass the test, you might get away with it. if you don’t pass, then you will need someone to come and pick you and the bike up.
that was what i was told at the license office when i got mine in 1983.

You have to ride your own bike to the test. They don't provide a bike for you on which you will take the test. You will have to have a legal permit, a road legal bike, and be dressed appropriately (helmet, eye-protection, etc) or they won't let you take the test.

Legally, only if you have your learner’s permit.
My answer to that is, how the heck you going to get it there otherwise.

In Arizona, you have 6 months from the time you pass your written to operate your bike. During this time you are expected to either pass the riding course (difficult) or take a 20 hour basic safety class.

Yes, as long as you have a permit and you are riding along with a licensed rider.
And you do not have to have a helmet. Helmets are not required by law in Illinois so they cannot require you to wear one.
You must have on jeans, closed-toe shoes, and glasses.
if you have a permit
I road my bike to my exam.
