Im taking my driving test to get my lisence soon. I'm really excited, but i also get extremely nervous. My legs tend to shake when i get nervous.( that obviously doesnt seem like a good thing when driving.) Everyone i've talked to says that i'm a good driver, but im afraid my nerves will get the best of me when the road test comes. Anyone have any ideas to keep me from getting so nervous?

Get a good night's sleep. Don't drink coffee before your test.
Go for a walk or 30 minutes of exercise 1 or 2 hours or so before your appointment to burn off some of the nervousness.
Realize that the in-car driving test is a learning experience, and many states have 'raised the bar' required to pass the test. This is due to the fact that there are just a lot more drivers on the road than 30 or more years ago, and people develop sloppy driving habits over time. By making the test a bit more difficult to test, fewer people pass – but they learn what the testers are looking for – good driving habits. Nearly everyone passes the 2nd time (unless they really don't learn anything.)
Some things to pay attention to:
- be on-time, or early. Don't make the test administrator wait.
- safety and mirrors. Wear your seat belt & make sure all passengers do, too. Check and adjust all 3 mirrors (if equipped.) Turn off the radio during the test. Adjust your seat to the proper height and distance, and even check your headrest position.
- Before you move the car out of the parking lot, check your mirrors and look behind you when you back out.
- Use turn signals *everywhere*
- Make your turns from the correct lane position, as directed by your tester.
- Accelerate smoothly, and brake smoothly. No jack-rabbit starts and stops.
- Obey all signals and signs.
- If you are confused by the tester's instructions, ask for clarification.
- show respect to the tester.
Bottom line: Don't sweat it. Be yourself and do your best. You might get a tough test administrator, but that is the luck of the draw.
have enough driving lessons until you really feel 110% comfortable in the seat, re-do the tricky bits, practise over and over until you can REALLY drive safely – then you will be on top of things during the test
shore just don't think about it just calm your self down and think about driving your car with your friends in it have fun but not too much fun and don't get nervous. I did this and i passed the fist time I did everything right and it payed off. good luck!
Drink 1/2 bottle of Vodka before test. Repeat during test if necessary.
