So I'm taking my drivers license test tomorrow, anybody know exactly what I'm going to be tested on?
I'm taking my license test this Monday and I'm wondering if there is anything I need to know, or any good advice to help me out. Anything will help me, I am very nervous about not passing.
Also, is there a written portion to the license test, like the permit test, or is it strictly a behind-the-wheel test?
Don't floor it
for the behind the wheel practice driving in the area of the DMV so your used to the traffic and intersections. The behind the wheel is all about practice, don't be nervous! If you dont pass its not the end of the world, you can retake it.

you totally need to like just calm down cause they can tell when your really stressed, and they'll go harder on you. so just relax.
that's what i did and i passed the first time.
Learn how to use your arm to signal left, right and stop. Don't turn the steering wheel early while waiting to turn a corner because they failed me for bumping a curb a little bit my first time. Strictly behind-the-wheel. Good luck! I'm getting mine the 13th too.
you need to take and PASS the written test BEFORE they let you drive. If you don't have an appointment you won't get in. You have to have a car to take the test (make sure it's an automatic). They don't usually let you take the written and driving on the same day. (not enough people to do that.)

you need to make sure your tail lights are good to go
make sure you know how to turn on your lights, your hazard lights, your windshield whippers, your defroster and stuff like that
something while driving to remember is that your instructor will probably bring you to a 3 lane road, and tell you to go to the far right lane when you are in the far left lane.
turn on your indicator, look over shoulder switch,
turn off your indicator, than turn it back on, look over shoulder than switch lanes again.

Its really hard. You have to go over narrow bridges with dragons hovering over you that are spitting their scorching hot fire on you.

When I took the test a few years ago there wasn't a written portion. For some reason I thought there was one, but there wasn't. My advice would be to just relax and pretend that you're out practicing with no pressure. Be very cautious and almost exaggerate everything – looking both ways, looking over shoulder when switching lanes etc. I was worried about having to a full on parallel park (I suck at it lol) but I didn't have to. just stay calm. i had a lesson before and the lesson was dreadful but the test went perfect and i passed first time so dont let a bad lesson/practice put you of just get all the mistakes out the way

i am taking my test tomorrow and i am freaking nervous as hell. what are things they are going to check on the test and how many points can you get marked off before you fail? was it easy
i had an appointment in the afternoon. the lady just wanted to get it over with and the test was only 10-15 minutes long. yes, it was easy but i missed 7 points…still passed. have fun.
just relax..there's nothing to be nervous about. once you're behind the wheel, everything will go smooth. just pretend you are riding with one of your friends
You're sweating a drivers license test? Man. Believe me, a retarded trained chimp with one good eye can get a drivers license in California. You have to answer correctly 15 out of 20 questions, and take a driving test. Unless you're dead, you'll pass. I'm serious, they'll let ANYBODY with a pulse drive in California.
remember all the little things, like looking back when your parallel parking even if there are no cars around thats how they fail you sometimes. but they will ask where the deforster is your emergency brake and they wont ask you questions about traffic laws because you already passed the written test. they mostly tell you make a right here left there, park here and so on. and you dont go on the freeway. good luck.
you are allowed to miss a total of 15 points on the test. major mistakes like running into a curb or doing a rolling stop could get you an auto fail. remember the 10-2 position. keep the speed limit, and don't care about any other driver but you.
Arrive on time. Have all your paperwork ready to hand him. Dress like your mother would like to see you dressed. Be polite, speak english (you know, the stuff you learned in English class). LISTEN to instructions you are given. Don't make assumptions, if you're not sure what he wants you to do, ask a question.
I never had to take it till I was busted racing on the El by an attourney. Cops were cool but I had been driving since 9 so no worries.

do you have a parent helping you get your liscense? If so, just have them sign the waiver thing and you wont even have to take the test…thats what mine did.
I took my test in San Mateo, CA. I drove around the area with left & right turns, changed lanes & backed up straight, I think that was pretty much it.

Is this for the written or driving test? For the written part read the book. As for driving test know your hand signals, drive around the office area with parent so you know the area, practice the 3 point turn, practice in the car your're going to test in, make sure the lights and blinkers work. wipers, radio, seatbelts, horn and no warning lights. as for cones I have not seen that only for motorcycles. I think its a written test. Well my brother moved to California in August. He transfered his licenses to Cali. He failed it once. He said it was hard. Although his girlfriend passed it right off. So..
BUT Im not for sure what they do.
go to the dmv and they have the the book that will tell you. also if you go to drivers ed then they will show you but yeah it is everything you said good luck, it is really not that hard just stay calm
