Behing the wheel driving test in California?

I'm going to take my driving test this week and my friend is letting us use her car because my husband's car is not a good car to use for the driving test and it's manual. I read that you need to provide proof of insurance? Did anyone else have to do this? I am not on my friends insurance and I didn't think I had to, my sister and my husband got their license in Arizona and they did not have to provide proof of insurance.
Thank you to the first person that answered, made it more clear for me!

You have to provide proof that the CAR is insured. You are likely covered by your friends insurance as a casual driver.

Just check to see that she has her proof in the glove compartment – if not, ask her for a copy.

The car you use for your California drivers road test must have current registration and insurance. You should also make sure that all the lights, and the horn (and windshield wipers on a rainy day) are in working order. The examiner will not begin the test if the car is not "street legal".
